Give your feet a treat

A WORKSHOP for EVERYONE who likes to MOVE, to DANCE and EXERCISE

With Annika KompArt (Associated Artist of Tanz Station – Barmer Bahnhof) and Jakob Agermose Pedersen

Our feet are the fundament for our body and our movements. Through physical exercises and dance movements, you’ll get a whole new awareness of the ability and functionality of your feet. Each foot has 26 bones and 33 ligaments, which need to be able to move. 24 to 25 muscles, more than 100 ligaments. More than 200.000 nerve endings, which each register warm/cold, pressure, position, pain, and more. You will get the chance to activate your entire feet, so that the rest of your body will be dancing. In this workshop we will focus on our feet like they never have been focused on before.

Body SDS (Body Self Development’s System) is a recognized Danish treatment and training system used by many athletes, dancers and others. My name is Jakob Agermose Pedersen and I am an authorized Body SDS Therapist. I have worked as an actor and have a Masters in Education/Psychology. I’m 46 years old, I’m from Denmark and I’m married to a German dancer. Three and a half years ago I opened my practice Körper Körper in the center of Copenhagen. Since then, I have treated over 1000 clients.

Annika KompArt offers a discovery of contemporary dance technique through improvisational and specific exercises, focusing on the efficiency and functionality of the moving body, being open minded and sensible to feel the joy of dancing. The key elements are to create awareness for using gravity and breath to develop and free the movements. Annika works internationally as dancer, choreographer, and teacher. Currently, she is an Associated Artist at Tanz Station – Barmer Bahnhof in Wuppertal, while also working for a Sasha Waltz & Guests project. She recently won the semi-final of Marte Live Europe with her solo dance piece Speech(less) and was assistant choreographer to a new production for Tanztheater Wuppertal. Annika was born in Germany, but has been based in Copenhagen, Denmark since 2015.
