“Dancing Wardrobe”

Take part in our dance and photo session!

An event as part of the “Kaiserschmarrn” series of the Heilkünstlerei

At “Switch Off & Dance”, people usually dance in the dark for an hour at the Tanz Station.
In the “Dancing Wardrobe”, clothes and costumes are available.
You can dance in the clothes – and then strike a pose and have your photo taken.
How do the clothes change your posture and appearance?

The photos are contributions to the exhibition from 10.11. in the Heilkünstlerei.

More about the “Kaiserschmarrn” series:

The starting point of the project is Hans Christian Andersen’s fairy tale “The Emperor’s New Clothes” (1837), or rather its source of inspiration from Don Juan Manuel from 1337. Both texts shed a revealing light on our present day.

In an “era of propaganda” (Der Spiegel), populists in politics, the media and society worldwide are flooding the processes of opinion formation with “fake news, conspiracy myths and disinformation.”

Millions of people are watching or even participating in the erosion of democratic structures. At Heilkünstlererei, artists, journalists and citizens are therefore exploring questions about the relationship between resistance and followership, autocracy and democracy, the individual and the collective.

The “Kaiserschmarrn” series is supported by the Kultursekretariat NRW with funds from the Ministry of Culture and Science of the State of NRW and the Kulturbüro of the City of Wuppertal
