Artists and performers from Wuppertal, Essen, Remscheid, Cologne and more will be showing and sharing their art at various institutions and in urban spaces in Wuppertal.
Whether in the open-air cinema, listening and discovering on a sound walk or dancing in public spaces – the Playground Festival invites you to experience the city in a new way and encounter dance in a wide variety of forms of expression. Three days full of movement, encounters and creative surprises await the audience at various locations in Wuppertal.
Playground is part of the Auswärtsspiel series of the Cologne tanz.tausch festival. Auswärtsspiel brings contemporary dance to regions away from the major production centres in an accessible, visible and diverse way – in 2025 to Wuppertal. In cooperation with Tanz Station – Barmer Bahnhof and other Wuppertal partners, the format connects artists in NRW, creates new stages and uses creative formats to appeal to audiences far removed from dance.
