Kenji Shinohe – „Action Briquette“

Workshop presentation of RESIDENZ PLUS#2 of Tanz Station – Barmer Bahnhof in cooperation with INSEL e.V.

The three-week residency ends with a workshop presentation at the venue of the cooperation partner INSEL e.V.

Following the performance, an audience discussion with the resident Kenji Shinohe as well as Thusnelda Mercy and Pascal Merighi will take place. The talk will be presented by Ricardo Viviani (dancer and choreographer).

About the project:
Kenji Shinohe, dancer and choreographer, was born in Japan in 1990 and is graduate of Folkwang University of the Arts. Within the framework of Residency Plus Kenji Shinohe explores the relationship between onomatopoeia and the body. For example, a dog’s bark is “bau-bau” in the US and “wan-wan” in Japan. These same sounds have different onomatopoeia. In his project „Action Briquette“ Kenji researches what happens in the body with sounds as well.

18th September 2021 | 7:30 pm | INSEL e.V.
Tickets (9 Euro/reduced 6 Euro) can be booked online.

Residency Plus is a cooperation of Tanz Station – Barmer Bahnhof with INSEL e.V. and Von Der Heydt-Museum Wuppertal
