The emerging and award-winning artist has recently moved to Wuppertal. Having lived in the Rhineland, Ecuador and Essen, this is not the first place far from home to become his new home.

Weaving together the Schwebebahn, the Steigerlied, Cologne carnival songs and South American rhythms, Nicklas John creates melodies inspired by his homeland that have touched his heart.

This sense of “coming home” manifests itself across different musical genres: growing up, he was surrounded by Bach and Supertramp. Swinging, groovy jazz then became his great love and offered him a musical home. It is from there that he sets out on his musical expeditions. He invites the audience to join him on a journey to these once-foreign places and sounds.
