The two choreographers will lead the group starting from images of human anatomy, and moments of listening to the body, to one’s senses, and to one’s micro-actions. These will be used to guide participants towards a discovery of a new and surprising choreographic language, in which energy is consumed and regenerated efficiently; in which patterns of movement emerge from, and feed into the body’s dynamics. Starting from the hypothesis that our ideas and knowledge expand along with our unconscious, the two choreographers will facilitate a profound state of connection to their own bodies for the participants, stimulating a ‘pharmacology’ of beneficial chemistry.
Through this fusion of somatic methods, represented by the meeting of the two choreographers the workshop proposes a dialogue between main pillars of the somatic disciplines, meaning to create a space for learning and self-discovery for those interested. The workshop is open both to professionals in the field of contemporary dance, to artists from other fields, as well as to the public at large, wishing to allow for a personal transformation caused by the inner and outer organic landscape, and to allow movement to emerge from unexpected areas of the self.

For Valentina De Piante, dancing is a powerful cognitive, social, and political instrument. Passionate about both art and neuroscience, the choreographer hosts Awareness Through Movement workshops of the Feldenkrais® method, dedicated to a large audience. Here, focusing attention into a mostly unknown, unaware, immeasurable body, with its many nodes of affectivity, she guides the participant towards an inner movement and sensation.
Cristina Lilienfeld is taking inspiration from her Somatic Movement Educator studies to expand the sphere of perception, and to achieve a real contact with the messages of the body. Thus, she nurtures internal mechanisms which allow for personal revelations, and for the feeling of being „at home” in one’s own body.
